This essay will talk about some points and defenses of my favourite pairing in Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, which is MukuroxTsuna, or 6927. For those of you who don't get the number interpretations (don't worry, I've been there) it's a way that fans put together for some of the characters, usually based on their names. I can't quite explain it properly, but yeah.
Also, I know very well that this couple is not exactly canon, I am aware of that. It's fannon, yes. I'm just pointing out some things and defending it a little since I'm a huge fan of the pairing. It may never happen, I know, but it won't stop me from enjoying it! <3
And I know I know, I'm gonna get the standard "Tsuna likes Kyoko!" and "Mukuro likes Chrome!". First of all, YES, I'm aware of that. I like a couple pairings with Tsuna, but not at the same time. And second, we don't know if Mukuro likes Chrome in that way or not. Maybe, maybe not. We don't know.
Anyway, I'll get on with the essay, so tell me what you think of it! ^^

1. Overview
Basically, the pairing of MukuroxTsuna, is a good example of love/terror, given Mukuro's ways of life. It's fairly obvious that Tsuna would be "uke" of the relationship, and Mukuro...well, seme. Although in Dying Will Mode, either with the Dying Will Bullet or 27 X Gloves, Tsuna could be seme!
In their relationship, Tsuna would most likely show Mukuro all the beautiful things life has to offer, and that all the negativity of the world may not be the best, but all the good things can give you strength to pull through. Not to mention he'd do what he can to create a better life than the horrible life Mukuro once had, and show him that in life, you can make choices to have the life you want, no matter how bad it was your childhood.
On a more intimate level between them, since Mukuro is so sly, devious, and easily amused, it's likely he'd be on the "sexy seductive" side since he seems like that. He'd be able to seduce Tsuna, and given Tsuna's embarrassed nature, he'd easily fall into it. With Mukuro's charm and Tsuna's comical reactions and blushing, they'd make quite a funny intimate pair too!
On the whole, Mukuro would probably have a difficult time grasping his true feelings, and not quite sure how to go about them. Tsuna would probably be confused and shocked, yet at the same time, they could help each other. Really just take the time to relax and figure it out, and go from there. See what happens. Let nature take its course.
2. Mukuro's views on Tsuna
When Mukuro first met Tsuna (under the impression that he was a regular Kokuyo student, since Tsuna thinks that Lancia is Mukuro) in the forest, he says that Tsuna "surpassed all his expectations, and yet so small and weak". Despite that, he's quite confident that he'll bring down the little guy since he's so weak and small, not very best at fighting.
During their battle, Mukuro ends up being quite surprised of Tsuna's strength after he obtains the gloves and going into Hyper Dying Will Mode, not to mention when he took possession of Gokudera and Bianchi, bringing out Tsuna's side in protecting his friends. He thinks that all the "friends" and "protecting them" is nonsense, all an illusion, that people are all out to secretly deceive each other. He's quite surprised Tsuna thinks like that, and reminds that him that "kindness like that will get him killed".
Some sparks fly when Mukuro claims he wants to possess Tsuna's body, since one of his goals is to possess the body of all kinds of world leaders and important public figures in order to cause a third World War and destroy everything-and everyone in order to create what he calls "a beautiful, bloody world".
After being defeated by Tsuna, Mukuro seems to have gained some ounces of respect toward Tsuna since he did defeat him and all. He then after recognizes him as "the one who defeated me".
Since then, although Mukuro remains to keep his arrogant and thoughtless exterior, it's obvious he's become a bit more merciful and has changed a lot since Tsuna defeated him. During the Ring Battle Arc when he took over Chrome's body to defeat Marmmon and gains the Ring of the Mist, he tells Tsuna that he's simply placing himself in a better position to possess Tsuna's body. However, Tsuna points out in his thoughts that Mukuro is lying, that there's a another reason. That's one thing that shows Mukuro has changed, since before, he was completely bent on possessing Tsuna.
Because of Mukuro's power, Tsuna's father, Iemetsu, requested that Mukuro (who at the time was using Chrome's body) become his Mist Guardian, in return of making sure Ken and Chikusa (and Chrome) are safe and protected. Mukuro agrees to it, much to everyone's surprise. Although he states that it's so he could possess Tsuna's body, like I said, it's a cover-up since there's another reason.
It's also apparent that Mukuro changed, because in the flashback scene when he escaped Vendicare alongside Ken and Chikusa, he told them they should go their seperate ways, and although he told them that they'd slow him down, it's obvious that a part of him wants to protect them. Also, in another flashback scene, when Chrome met up with Ken and Chikusa, Mukuro appeared as something of a hologram, and told them that he wants the two of them, and Chrome, to help him protect Tsuna.
In all, the battle against Tsuna really seemed to change Mukuro. Although he tries not to show it, and lie about it, it's pretty obvious. After all, if this all happened prior to Tsuna defeating Mukuro, there's no way this would all have happened like it did.
On the whole, Mukuro is easily amused by Tsuna, because of his comical reactions and his views on life and friends, and the like. As stated, he has a level of respect for him since he was defeated by him, and although he won't admit it, Tsuna's Vongola Intuition is right on the money, even about him.
In the future arc (although I haven't read on it very much, nor have I watched it), Mukuro is seen to be more of an ally to the family-he still won't admit it-, and serves under Tsuna. We're not quite sure if he still claims to want to possess Tsuna, but it's likely if he wants to use that as a cover-up to hide his true feelings.
If Mukuro were to fall in love with Tsuna-it could happen, I'm not saying it will-as I said, he would likely hide his feelings because he's not sure how to go about them and doesn't know how they truly feel. I think maybe deep down he would see, that since Tsuna changed him like he did, he would be able to show him a lot more. Even change him a lot more than before, also. Not just that, he would do everything he can to protect him. Although we all know and think he'd bring him pain eventually and laugh about it, which it could happen, but I think after Tsuna's showed him a lot, he won't.
3. Tsuna's views on Mukuro
It's funny, when Tsuna first met Mukuro, he was under the impression that he was a regular Kokuyo student, and that Lancia was Mukuro. He seemed worried and hoped he and other hostages were all right. Despite his Vongola intuition, it's surprising he didn't realize that this was the real Mukuro, even with Mukuro being a good actor.
Prior to meeting him, when Tsuna hears about what Mukuro has done, he says that he makes him angry. (Sparking, no? XD)
When Tsuna defeated Lancia-still under the impression he was Mukuro-, he actually thought he was nice, that he didn't like hurting others. It's then he discovers the truth, and realizes how angered the illusionist makes him, and is determined to defeat him.
Later on when Tsuna comes to confront Mukuro alongside Bianchi and Reborn-later joined by Gokudera and Hibari-, he still doesn't know that the Kokuyo student he worried about earlier was Mukuro...until Mukuro introduced himself.
When Mukuro possessed Bianchi and Gokudera, this made Tsuna even more pissed because he doesn't want his friends to be used as pawns, and he shows obvious care for them and that he'd protect them by putting his life on the line if necessary. Also upon learning that Mukuro wants to possess him, he becomes determined not to make it happen, and worries more what will happen to his friends if it happens.
After defeating Mukuro, despite everything, he's even worried about Ken and Chikusa, wondering if they're all right and what'll happen to them. And he also wonders if Mukuro is still alive, which he is, just unconsious. It shows how Tsuna's not only concerned for his friends, but his opponents as well. After Ken and Chikusa explained the story of their past and how Mukuro gave them a place to be when he let them follow, and it makes Tsuna realize something of Mukuro, despite that he doesn't show it.
Soon on after, although Tsuna still is a bit scared of Mukuro, since he can be terrifying, but it's apparent that Tsuna accepts him as his Guardian and is grateful. Because of his Vongola Intuition, he can tell that Mukuro didn't become his Mist Guardian in order to possess him, because when he stated that, Tsuna thought He's lying, there's another reason.
Also, despite that Reborn told him not to sympathize Mukuro and to never forget what he did to him, it's obvious that Tsuna looks into the bigger picture, and especially can't help but feel bad for him, especially in that visual scene when he saw Mukuro in the liquid containment chamber in the Vendicare Prison. Not only that, the day after the battle for the Ring of the Mist, when Tsuna meets with Chrome at the Hospital, he asks her how Mukuro's doing, although kind of covers up his concern by saying he's just curious, you can tell he's worried. So yes, despite what Reborn told him, Tsuna does feel bad for Mukuro, although he tries not to show it too much.
On the whole, if Tsuna were to fall in love-I know I know he likes Kyoko, but listen to me on this-, I think he would really go out to show Mukuro just how great life really is and make him realize that you can surpass the bad things if you just hold on to the things in life you love. Not to mention providing a better life than before, and giving him something he needs, love.
4. Reasons it would work
Most of the time when it comes to pairings, there are usually reasons it would work, and reasons it wouldn't. Here are some reasons that it would work.
As stated before, Tsuna seems to have this way of somehow changing people when he meets them, and he definitely changed Mukuro here and there, and getting more and more toward for the better. If he continued this for years on, he could definitely make Mukuro more comfortable in the world and less bent on commiting heinous acts.
Mukuro, being very powerful and now with the intent on protecting Tsuna, he could very well keep him safe and secure at all times when needed, doing the best he could. If Tsuna works him over, he'll be able to protect Tsuna from himself.
As I said before, Tsuna could show Mukuro what good there is in the world, and really brighten his days, and ward off all the bad things. Not to mention giving a better life, to the best of his ways. Also, you can tell he'd truly love him with all his heart, and never go back on it, and he'd work to prove it. Once Mukuro could see that, he'd be truly surprised, and maybe get more in touch with his own feelings and realize his love for him too. Not only that, I think Tsuna's warmth and kindness is something he really needs.
Being an incurable optimist, I think that if they went about a relationship like this, each doing what I (and others) perceive, it may just work between them. Of course, that's just my opinion, and what I've perceived due to actions in the manga and anime.
5. Reasons it wouldn't work
To my (and other 6927 fans) unfortunate dismay (I couldn't resist. XD), there are reasons it wouldn't work. Yes, I do acknowledge them and am aware.
Tsuna likes Kyoko, and although anything can happen, nothing seems to change abou that for the time being. He's also straight.
Although we're not fully aware of Mukuro's sexual orientation, since for now it's apparently not relevant to the storyline, at least not for now, he might be straight, although I'm just guessing. As I also said, some think that he likes Chrome. It may be possible, I'm not saying it's not, but it's also possible he doesn't. It apparently doesn't serve relevance to the story, so we don't know that yet. We can't say he does, and we can't say he doesn't. Although, in my opinion, I think he may see her as a saviour and a friend, or even a little sister. I'm not completely certain, but then again, only Akira Amano (the creator of KHR) knows.
Mukuro, being an ex-convict, makes it pretty hard, especially since Tsuna is soon to be the Tenth Boss of the Vongola family. Not to mention Tsuna's friends-Gokudera especially-going out to protect him whenever necessary, it's likely they wouldn't let Mukuro near Tsuna.
It's not exactly happening that way in the manga or anime. Although I know we can't say for sure what'll happen next, I just know that it's not canon. Hey, it might happen, it might not. I'll accept it either way, and not let it get to my fandom.
6. Personal Opinion
I don't really know how it happened, but right now I just adore this pairing, it's my OTP of the series. At first I was more passive about it, didn't really know of it, and if I did I thought "Oh, that's cute".
Over time, I don't know how, but all of a sudden, I found myself liking it more and then I read fanfictions on it and looked up fanart of it. I think what also sparked it was when me and a friend of mine (who's also a big fan of the pairing) roleplayed it the first time, since at the time I was liking the pairing. Then we made the plan for a collaboration doujinshi of the pair, and that was helping spark it even more. Before long, I fell in love with the pair.
I think one thing that attracts me to it, is not only the forbidden-esque ways of it, but also just how it seems to give a rush of sexyness and terror and love all at once. Plus, it can be really cute when it wants to. It was instant attraction. The pairing is very exciting, a good way to put it.
There's so much I can say about how much I love 6927, but I don't want to ramble too much. All I can say is that I love this pairing so much, and hope to see more of it over time, and create some myself.

8. Final Analysis
In conclusion, whether or not it works out, I think somehow the two of them will always have some kind of a deep personal connection. Although their pasts aren't completely the same, they're somewhat similar.
Although it's not the most popular pairing in the series, it may seem like it, but it's on more of its own level, and there's not a lot of it out there. That's okay though, I don't want it TOO popular. It does need more love, yes, but just you know.
Also, I'm not at all trying to convert you guys, I'm just stating some opinions and possibilities. Think what you want, it's fine, we all have our opinions. I also hope I gave something nice to you fans of this pairing! ^^

Although, in my opinion, I think he may see her as a saviour and a friend, or even a little sister. I'm not completely certain, but then again, only Akira Amano (the creator of KHR) knows.
Mukuro, being an ex-convict, makes it pretty hard, especially since Tsuna is soon to be the Tenth Boss of the Vongola family. Not to mention Tsuna's friends-Gokudera especially-going out to protect him whenever necessary, it's likely they wouldn't let Mukuro near Tsuna.
It's not exactly happening that way in the manga or anime. Although I know we can't say for sure what'll happen next, I just know that it's not canon. Hey, it might happen, it might not. I'll accept it either way, and not let it get to my fandom.
6. Personal Opinion
I don't really know how it happened, but right now I just adore this pairing, it's my OTP of the series. At first I was more passive about it, didn't really know of it, and if I did I thought "Oh, that's cute".
Over time, I don't know how, but all of a sudden, I found myself liking it more and then I read fanfictions on it and looked up fanart of it. I think what also sparked it was when me and a friend of mine (who's also a big fan of the pairing) roleplayed it the first time, since at the time I was liking the pairing. Then we made the plan for a collaboration doujinshi of the pair, and that was helping spark it even more. Before long, I fell in love with the pair.
I think one thing that attracts me to it, is not only the forbidden-esque ways of it, but also just how it seems to give a rush of sexyness and terror and love all at once. Plus, it can be really cute when it wants to. It was instant attraction. The pairing is very exciting, a good way to put it.
There's so much I can say about how much I love 6927, but I don't want to ramble too much. All I can say is that I love this pairing so much, and hope to see more of it over time, and create some myself.

8. Final Analysis
In conclusion, whether or not it works out, I think somehow the two of them will always have some kind of a deep personal connection. Although their pasts aren't completely the same, they're somewhat similar.
Although it's not the most popular pairing in the series, it may seem like it, but it's on more of its own level, and there's not a lot of it out there. That's okay though, I don't want it TOO popular. It does need more love, yes, but just you know.
Also, I'm not at all trying to convert you guys, I'm just stating some opinions and possibilities. Think what you want, it's fine, we all have our opinions. I also hope I gave something nice to you fans of this pairing! ^^
